What is Neurolens?
Founded in 2012, the Neurolens company strives to bring relief to patients by creating a new category of prescription lenses that not only provide excellent vision but also provide relief for patients who suffer from unpleasant symptoms related to excessive digital, detailed, or near work.
In the beginning, Neurolens partnered with neurology centers nationwide and began conducting research utilizing Neurolens technology on their most end-of-the-line patients. Within days, they achieved tremendous results; however, their in-depth clinical research continued for years. They were able to take this information and create Neurolenses, the first prescription lenses that use a contoured prism to minimize symptoms of digital eye strain.
Neurolens is both a measurement device and a type of specialized prism lens for eyeglasses. The Neurolens Measurement Device, NMD2, is an objective, accurate and repeatable way to measure eye misalignment at both distance and near. These unique measurements, with calculations to the one-hundredth of a prism diopter, provide a recommended prescription range for the Nuerolens contoured prism design to be worn in eyeglasses.

At least 2/3 of people experience the symptoms of eye misalignment, and that number grows as we shift to remote working and learning. When the eyes are misaligned, the visual system must work constantly to compensate for the misalignment. Small misalignments can place stress on the trigeminal nerve causing symptoms of strain and fatigue. The trigeminal nerve is the largest and most complex cranial nerve and is responsible for head and neck sensations. Even small prism corrections can provide dramatic relief. The Neurolens measurement device can identify eye misalignment as small as 0.01 Prism Diopters, acquiring over 10,000 data points per patient.

Symptoms of Misalignment Include:
- Eye strain or irritaiton
- Dry Eye Sensation
- Neck Pain
- Eye Fatigue
- Motion Sickness
What are Neurolenses?
The proprietary Neurolens, inspired by a breakthrough discovery linking neurology and optics, are prescription lenses with a ‘contoured prism’ provide effortless eye alignment at all distances by gradually increasing the prism from distance to near. This relieves symptoms of visual misalignment by placing correction in the lenses where it is needed most. While your brain and eyes work together to correct the misalignment, your trigeminal nerve is continuously stimulated causing the symptoms mentioned above including eye fatigue. Ongoing eye fatigue can cause headaches and muscle tension. Because of the unique construction of the lens, Neurolenses are able to correct for objects in the distance and up close by offering different amounts of correction depending on where the patient is looking.
These lenses can be customized for every patient. They are available in every prescription and can be placed in any frame. They may even be placed in non-prescription frames for patients who don’t have any refractive errors or wear contact lenses. Neurolenses are an advanced-technology lens, and are made with high quality materials with high quality Anti-Reflective coatings. Additionally, Neurolenses come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee and a 2-year scratch warranty.
Do they work?
For the vast majority of people with eye misalignment, this misalignment is much more pronounced when focusing on an object that is in close range. As we become increasingly reliant on our digital devices, these symptoms have become more prevalent.
These symptoms are sometimes referred to as Digital Vision Syndrome or Computer Vision Syndrome. Since March 2020, average screen time has increased to 13+ hours per day. Remote learning and working has become a reality for many people, making eye misalignment and the associated symptoms even more widespread.
In a study concerning Computer Vision Syndrome, 100% of patients experiencing symptoms of Computer Vision Syndrome had a positive response to treatment with Neurolenses. Many Neurolens wearers have been able to greatly reduce or eliminate the need for pain-relieving medications.
Neurolenses lead to significant symptom relief for the majority of wearers since they are disned to bring the eyes into proper alignment, which is essential for comfortable vision. In fact, studies show 93% of patients experience symptom relief from wearing Neurolenses. After wearing Neurolenses for 90 days, 73% of patients reported their symptoms were ‘substantially reduced’ or ‘basically gone.’
Consider though that Neurolenses do have an adjustment period. They should be worn the majority of the day, typically at least a few hours a day of continual wear, to have an effect on your symptoms.
Who can use Neurolens?
Neurolens® may be particularly beneficial for those who work in fields that require computer work, reading, or detailed work. Spending hours focusing on screens can be unavoidable depending on your individual circumstances. These long hours can cause uncomfortable and disruptive symptoms that can interfere with work, like eye strain.
Someone experiencing eye strain, chronic headaches, or other similar symptoms can use Neurolenses to correct and relieve their condition. This makes it a great option for relief for students, those who work on a computer all day, and anyone who may spend long hours squinting at small details or words on a page.
Many patients needing neurolens® may not have worn glasses before to see at a distance or up close but do need help with their eye misalignment. If you think you may be a good candidate for these lenses, you may schedule an appointment with our Team.
